Mission

We are dedicated to eliminating health inequities associated with stress and trauma through community-centered, participatory research and action.

Vision

We aim to promote health equity through an innovative program of research systematically designed to partner with communities to develop and implement strength-based solutions grounded in cultural humility.

Approach

Community-based participatory research: Research that equitably involves community partners throughout the research process with an emphasis on both building knowledge and directly improving the community’s health and well-being.

Cultural humility: Incorporates a lifelong commitment to learning and self-critique, to mitigating power imbalances, and to advocating for institutional change in partnership with diverse communities.
